Diamondbacks Still Seeking Offseason Additions, Hazen Confirms
Patrick Breen/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

As Spring Training looms just a week away, the Arizona Diamondbacks show no signs of concluding their offseason acquisitions, as confirmed by GM Mike Hazen.

On Friday, Hazen confirmed that owner Ken Kendrick has given the green light to invest further if it means improving the team.

Already, the Diamondbacks have bolstered their roster with the additions of SP Eduardo Rodriguez, 3B Eugenio Suarez, and the re-signing of outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

In a press conference, Hazen declared, “Ken has still told me to continue to improve the team any way that we can … We’re still out there trying to actively do that.”

As articulated in ESPN’s recent MLB power rankings, “The D-backs have responded to their surprising World Series run by doubling down, adding Eduardo Rodriguez to the middle of their rotation and injecting Eugenio Suarez and Joc Pederson into the middle of their lineup. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was brought back, too, solidifying left field. Arizona has done a nice job adding the pieces that would make its roster more complete.”

The Diamondbacks secured a spot in the top 10 of these rankings, claiming the 9th position. Currently, they are positioned around 12th in most sportsbooks for World Series odds.

Some notable free agents still available include Tommy Pham, Blake Snell, Matt Chapman, Jordan Montgomery, and Cody Bellinger.
