Pavin Smith named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week
Rob Schumacher/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

After being sent down to Triple-A on September 13th, outfielder Pavin Smith quickly made an impact with the Reno Aces this week.

Smith, who went 1-7 at the plate for the Diamondbacks in the beginning of September, bounced back by slashing .529 on nine hits, two home runs, and eight RBIs down in Triple-A.

This earned him the title of Pacific Coast League Player of the Week. It marked the third straight week that a member of the Aces has claimed this honor.

Included in this impressive week at the plate, there was a 4/5 game on Sunday where Pavin led the Aces to a 10-4 with a three-run home run.

Smith is now hitting.307 through 56 games in Reno this season. This is compared to his.189 batting average through 69 games with the Diamondbacks.

The Aces are currently in the midst of a heated playoff race, just like the Diamondbacks.

Just six games remain on the schedule for the Aces as they sit just two games back from first place.

They will be taking on the Las Vegas Aviators tonight at 7:05 p.m.
